SALON TURN TRACKER & WALK-IN QUEUE

Know who’s next with a nail salon turn tracker.

Replace the whiteboard with one shared queue for first-available guests and requested technicians.

Turn Flow is the Glownomics nail salon turn tracker. It applies your saved salon rules to today’s walk-ins, shows the next eligible pairing and keeps the reason when service starts.

The demo uses sample data. Shared Turn Flow, QR check-in and the waiting-room view are Owner Pro features.

THE NEXT ELIGIBLE PAIRING

See the next guest and the next eligible technician.

First-available guests line up by arrival time. Technicians join the Ready order when they are available. Glownomics pairs the oldest eligible guest with a qualified Ready technician, then asks the owner to confirm Start. The turn is committed only when service begins.

01

First available

Guests stay in arrival order while Glownomics checks the service and each technician’s current eligibility.

02

Requested technician

Requested guests wait in a separate lane for the chosen person. The salon decides whether that service counts as no turn, half a turn or a full turn.

03

Ready, serving or break

Technicians control their own Ready and Break status. Owners see the same order and handle exceptions.

YOUR SALON’S RULES

Choose how your salon rotates work.

Use a straightforward line or balance turns by saved point values. Glownomics never chooses randomly.

Simple Rotation

The next regular guest goes to the first qualified technician in the current Ready order.

Balanced Turns

Qualified technicians rank by lowest turn points, then longest Ready time and deterministic tie-breaks.

Service Turn Values

Set a service as no turn, half, full, large or double so a quick repair and a long service do not have to count the same.

Service skills

Optionally mark which technicians can perform each service so the next guest is paired only with someone qualified.

EXCEPTIONS WITH HISTORY

Handle the real day without erasing the story.

Pass, Break, requested guests, cancellations and manual appointment holds follow the salon’s saved policy. Resetting the day is owner-only, requires a reason and preserves history.

A manual Appointment Hold can protect time for an appointment managed elsewhere; it is not an external-calendar sync.

PRIVACY-MINDED CHECK-IN

Let guests join without opening the owner workspace.

Owner Pro can create one active, revocable QR check-in link. A guest needs only a display name—initials are enough—and a phone number is optional.

The waiting-room view shows a reduced operational display instead of private salon records.

Offline boundary: new walk-ins can wait safely on the device and synchronize after reconnecting. A live assignment still requires the server to confirm the current queue.
FAQ

Questions salon owners ask about turn rotation.

Is Turn Flow the same as a basic wait list?

No. A wait list records who is waiting. Turn Flow also ranks eligible technicians under the salon’s saved rules and preserves why a pairing was selected.

How are requested technicians handled?

They remain separate from first-available guests. By default they do not consume a regular turn, but the owner can configure no, half or full turn credit.

Can technicians change the order themselves?

Technicians can change their own Ready or Break status. Owners control salon rules, reassignments, resets and other exceptions.

Does Turn Flow replace online booking?

No. It manages the day-of salon floor. Glownomics has a separate booking workflow, while appointments managed outside Glownomics can be represented with a manual hold.

What happens if the internet drops?

New walk-ins can be saved on the device and synchronized after reconnecting. A live assignment still requires the server to confirm the current queue before service starts.

Is Turn Flow included on Free?

Owner Free includes manual walk-in records. Shared explainable rotation, salon policies, QR check-in and the waiting-room display require Owner Pro.

A DAILY TURN EXAMPLE

Four technicians, half turns and requested clients.

Imagine a salon with An, Binh, Chi and Dung. Its owner chooses 0.5 turn for a polish change and 1 turn for a full set, keeps requested clients separate from first-available walk-ins, and reviews exceptions. These are example rules, not a rule every salon must use.

  1. Start with availability and skills. An, Binh and Chi are ready; Dung is on a break. Check who can perform the requested service before choosing a turn.
  2. Record the service weight. When An receives a polish-change assignment, the service carries the owner's 0.5-turn value. A full set carries 1 turn. The saved rule determines how those values affect the queue.
  3. Separate requested clients. A client asking for Chi enters the requested queue. Keep that decision visible instead of treating the client as an ordinary first-available walk-in.
  4. Recheck before the next assignment. Exclude a technician still on break or busy with another client. If nobody eligible is ready, keep the guest waiting or record an owner-reviewed exception with a reason.

Before and after in Balanced mode.

For this example, the owner uses Balanced mode: choose the ready, qualified technician with the fewest turn points; break a points tie by who has waited ready longer.

TechnicianBeforeAfter two assignments
An0 · ready0.5 · ready again
Binh0.5 · ready1.5 · serving a full set
Chi1 · ready1 · ready
Dung0 · on break0 · still on break

First, An gets the polish change and adds 0.5 point at assignment. When An is ready again, An and Binh both have 0.5; Binh has waited ready longer, so Binh gets the next full set and adds 1 point. For a later service An is not qualified to do, Chi is the next eligible choice: Binh is busy and Dung is on break, even though Dung has fewer points. A client requesting Chi follows the separate requested-client path, with its own saved turn rule.

Glownomics preserves the rule and reason behind each assignment. A turn position alone does not guarantee a particular guest, payout or identical service load. Try your own half-turn, full-turn and request rules in the salon operations demo, then review Owner Pro pricing.
