TECHNICIAN SHARE RULESCommission records without pretending to be payroll.
Many salons call the arrangement commission. Glownomics calls it a technician share because it records the salon’s agreement without deciding employment classification. Save default, service-specific, technician-specific or split-service rules with effective dates and preserved versions.
EXAMPLE CALCULATIONCA$100 service × 60% = CA$60 technician share.
Add the assigned tip, then apply only the salon’s saved fee or reasoned adjustment.
The result is a payout record.
It is not net pay, a pay stub or a tax calculation.
TIPS WITH THEIR SOURCEKeep each tip attached to the right ticket.
Record direct tips, salon-held tips and tips that still need classification. For a connected Square Terminal payment, Glownomics records the terminal tip only after Square confirms it.
An optional saved card-tip fee can be shown separately instead of being hidden inside the total.
PRIVATE EXPLANATIONSGive each technician only their own details.
A technician sees their allocated services, assigned tips, stored calculation explanation and payout status. They can acknowledge the payout or ask a question without seeing another technician’s money or the salon-wide financial record.
WEEKLY CLOSEClose the week without overwriting history.
Review tickets, service shares, tips, hours and adjustments by technician. Glownomics blocks the lock while a shift is open, a guest is still being served or device changes remain unsynchronized.
01Review the source
Inspect the tickets, tips, share rules and adjustments that make up each person’s amount.
02Lock one payout run
Locking creates a source-backed weekly record only after unresolved operating work is cleared.
03Reopen with a reason
A correction creates new history. The previous payout run and its before-and-after evidence remain available.
BOOKKEEPING EXPORTGive the accountant a record that still has its source.
Create a weekly CSV or printable statement. The accountant package can include tickets, weekly payouts, source lines, rule versions and before-and-after adjustment events.
Important boundary: these are bookkeeping records for review. Glownomics does not run payroll, transfer wages, file returns, calculate statutory deductions or replace an accountant.
FAQ
Questions about salon commissions, tips and payouts.
Is Glownomics salon commission software?
It records and applies saved technician-share rules to salon tickets. It does not determine whether a worker is an employee or contractor and does not calculate statutory payroll obligations.
Can different services or technicians use different percentages?
Yes. Owner Pro supports default, service-specific, technician-specific and split-service rules. New versions apply prospectively; historical tickets keep the version used when they were recorded.
Can a locked payout change?
Not silently. The owner must reopen the week with a reason before making a correction. The earlier payout run and its source history remain preserved.
Does Glownomics pay technicians?
No. The owner pays outside Glownomics, then records the payment method and paid status. Glownomics does not move payroll funds.
Does it calculate payroll deductions or taxes?
No. It does not calculate CPP, EI, payroll tax, overtime entitlement, vacation pay or tax filings. It can preserve the salon’s configured share, fee and adjustment records for professional review.
What can a technician see?
Technicians can see their own ticket allocations, tips, explanations and payouts. They cannot see another technician’s amounts or the salon-wide payout run.
SOURCE-BACKED WEEKLY CLOSEClose the week with the source still attached.
Open the sample week, inspect each technician’s tickets and tips, then see what changes when the week is locked.
